Qualifications:
Degree in speech pathology or its equivalent
At least one year of supervised work experience with adult patients
Licensed, registered or certified by the State of Kansas
Must be a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association, is certified by the association and is eligible for membership
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and assess patients speech and language abilities and level of function and develop appropriate treatment plans
Provide rehabilitation services for speech and language disorders
Educate patients, family and team members on methods of assisting patient in improving, correcting, and/or accepting his or her disabilities.
Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Ability to assess patients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans
Strong problem-solving skills to address patients' unique challenges and adapt treatment plans accordingly
Empathy and compassion to provide emotional support to patients during their recovery process
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple patients and prioritize tasks effectively
