Legal Assistant, Family Law

Position Hiring For: Legal Assistant for Attorneys

Classification: Full-time; on-site

Hours: 9:00-5:00, Monday-Friday

Reports to: Attorneys and Director of Operations

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Good telephone skills essential for frequent communications with judges’ staffs, other attorneys’ offices, and clients in distress. Other duties include but are not limited to: assisting attorneys with case management, preparation of documents, keeping calendars current, appropriately calendaring pleadings and discovery; scheduling hearings, appointments, depositions, client meetings; timely answering calls/e-mails; e-filing and e-service; new client screening, court map and intake; maintaining files electronically and physically; opening and closing files and miscellaneous office related tasks & support for attorneys.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bi-lingual preferred
Experience in family and marital law preferred
Organized, and follows up with previously assigned tasks until completed
Must be able to read and write in English clearly & succinctly
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs (excel, outlook, word)
Must have effective and efficient typing skills
Must be upbeat, pro-active, accurate, move quickly and be able to change tasks, prioritize and, multi-task

PAY RATE:

$55k+ commensurate with experience. Full benefit package including health insurance, dental, vision and Simple IRA Retirement plan. Parking and/or metro pass also included.
