Job Overview: The Sales Leader – Business Development manager will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities while managing and expanding relationships with existing clients. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the structural steel industry and strong skills in relationship management, negotiation, and sales closing. The ideal candidate will be proactive, results-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with various internal teams to achieve business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Relationship Management:

Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients, including general contractors, architects, engineers, and developers.
Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their needs and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Conduct regular follow-ups and meetings to understand clients' evolving requirements and gather feedback.

Business Development:

Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the structural steel fabrication and installation market.
Develop and execute strategies to expand the company’s client base and market presence.
Network within industry events, conferences, and trade shows to build and maintain industry connections.

Opportunity Identification and Proposal Management:

Research and identify potential projects and clients that align with the company’s capabilities and strategic goals.
Collaborate with the project management and engineering teams to prepare and submit competitive proposals.
Ensure timely and accurate response to requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for quotations (RFQs).

Deal Closure and Negotiation:

Lead negotiations with prospective clients to close deals and secure contracts.
Work closely with the legal and finance teams to finalize terms and conditions of contracts.
Monitor and manage the sales pipeline to ensure all opportunities are effectively pursued and closed.

Market Analysis and Reporting:

Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform business development strategies.
Provide regular reports on sales performance, market conditions, and business development activities to senior management.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of clients, opportunities, and industry contacts.

Collaboration and Team Support:

Work closely with internal teams including project management, engineering, and finance to ensure smooth execution of projects and client satisfaction.
Provide insights and recommendations to improve service offerings and enhance competitive positioning.
Mentor and support junior sales team members as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
Proven experience in sales and business development within the structural steel fabrication and installation industry.
Strong understanding of the structural steel market, industry trends, and key players.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Results-driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
