Position Profile – AVP, Actuary:

The AVP, Actuary is a key business leader within Ibexis, a rapidly growing A- rated fixed annuity insurance company. The individual will report directly to the Chief Actuary and be integrated into the actuarial and risk management strategy across the entire organization. High visibility role, currently with two direct reports for assistance in responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Broadly responsible for assisting Chief Actuary with actuarial model development, Liability Valuation and Financial planning under multiple accounting and regulatory frameworks, Pricing, ALM, Hedging, Product development, Capital management and operations
Maintain actuarial pricing models, and manage rate setting process
Develop, maintain, and produce financial reporting for US GAAP & US Stat
Responsible for asset adequacy testing and reporting.
Responsible for Development, maintenance of FP&A (Financial Planning) models to project earnings under US GAAP, and Statutory target capital levels
Monitor target capital levels for use in pricing and measuring the profitability of the business and annuity products
Develop, maintain, and improve risk processes for hedging and ALM
Develop, maintain, and improve operational controls for liability administration system and illustration software
Assist in actuarial aspects of rating agency, insurance regulatory and investor relations
Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of 3-6+ years of progressively more responsible actuarial experience within the US life and annuity segment
ASA designation or higher
BA or BS required
Strong modelling skills as well as experience with Actuarial modeling software. Experience with MG ALFA preferred
Strong understanding of different reserving and accounting frameworks (US Statutory, US GAAP, Fair Value a plus)
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to explain actuarial concepts in actuarial and non-actuarial language to executive level audiences
Strong analytical, independent and critical thinking, problem solving skills

Compensation & Location:

Very competitive base salary and bonus
The location is based at our new West Palm Beach, FL corporate headquarters. Role requires in-office attendance (not remote). You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from your colleagues. Candidate will need to relocate to South Florida within a reasonable time of start date.
