As the legal assistant to attorneys in various practice groups, you will be responsible for a wide range of support tasks, enabling the attorneys to focus on strategic initiatives and client engagements. To succeed in this role, the legal assistant must be proactive, detail-oriented, self-motivated, technologically proficient, and possess exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Supporting four or more attorneys in multiple areas of practice, including drafting correspondence, opening files, maintaining and updating client file lists, and calendar management
Interacting with clients and other professionals in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
Managing the coordination of complex document preparation and delivery
Providing detailed review and proofreading of documents to ensure proper formatting, grammar, punctuation, and spelling
Managing and editing pre-bills
Coordinating invoice transmission to clients
Composing correspondence
Coordinating travel arrangements and expense reimbursement
Coordinating meetings
Opening and maintaining files

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
Three to five years of experience, preferably in a mid-to-large organization
Advanced user of Microsoft Office (including Office Styles)
Outstanding organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously
Professional demeanor and a client-focused attitude
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to prioritize numerous tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work well with others
Must be self-motivated and able to meet deadlines under pressure
Positive attitude
Superior grammar and proofreading skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
