Moore Actuarial Consulting, LLC is an actuarial consulting firm focused on pricing and reserving for Property and Casualty lines of insurance. Areas of particular focus include Executive and Professional Liability (D&O, E&O, etc), Standard Commercial Lines (Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Auto, General Liability, etc), Warranty and Extended Service Contracts and Reinsurance.

Position Summary

This is a full-time role. Part-time is also available. Hours are flexible. Travel is not expected. This role will be involved in a variety of Property & Casualty actuarial analyses primarily within Commercial and Specialty Lines of insurance.

The types of projects include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Reserve/Pricing/Profitability reviews

· Rating plan development

· Rate filing support

· Rating model development

Essential functions

· Organizing data in Excel, Access and/or R

· Traditional actuarial analyses

· Research

· Building, maintaining and enhancing Excel analysis templates and models

Education/Experience/Skills

· Bachelors’ degree

· 2+ years of P&C insurance experience

· 2+ actuarial exams successfully completed

· Both pricing and reserving experience is preferred

· Excellent problem-solving skills

· Detailed oriented; quick learner

· Committed to meeting deadlines

· Solid understanding of insurance and actuarial fundamentals

· Strong data manipulation and organization skills

· Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Access

· Proficiency programming in VBA and R is a plus
