Nashoba Valley Veterinary Hospital is a small animal hospital, located in Westford, Massachusetts, seeking a skilled veterinarian to join our team. Our practice offers state-of-the-art care, Idexx in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, and a surgical suite. The ideal candidate will have a passion for outstanding animal care, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the necessary background and experience to provide exceptional medical and surgical veterinary services. The clinic has a strong, experienced senior vet in practice for 30+ years. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking for a mentored position with great growth potential.
The practice consists of a largely long-standing, experienced team, some of whom have worked with Dr. Smith for decades. We have a loyal clientele and an excellent reputation in the community. There are two full-service referral hospitals within 30 minutes as well as 2 urgent care facilities. Our veterinarians are not expected to stay beyond their shift or be on-call. We prioritize a work/life balance.
The clinic is open Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm, and three Saturday mornings per month. Westford provides an ideal location for accessing the best New England has to offer, with easy access to mountains and beaches as well as cities including Boston, Providence, RI and Portland, ME.
Pay is based on experience.
Responsibilities

Perform medical examinations of dogs and cats
Provide routine preventative care
Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries
Educate pet owners on problems and treatment plans
Perform routine surgeries and dental services
Maintain accurate medical records
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members

Experience

2-3 years small animal medical and surgical experience

Qualifications

DVM or VMD
Licensed in or eligible for license in Massachusetts
Routine soft tissue surgical competency and experience
Veterinary medicine knowledge
Animal restraint skills
Animal catheterization proficiency
Laboratory experience in veterinary settings

Pay: based on experience level
Expected Hours: 40 per week
Schedule:

Day shifts, morning and afternoon appointments, Monday through Friday
1 surgery morning a week
1-2 Saturday morning shifts per month
