Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Construction & Maintenance Assistant Manager to join our team. This full-time position, based in San Diego, CA, requires a strong foundation in construction and property maintenance, with an in-depth understanding of the permitting process across San Diego and surrounding cities. The Assistant Manager will manage scheduling, tenant coordination, and provide on-site support for job estimation, using our construction software to ensure projects are efficiently scheduled and executed. Bilingual candidates are strongly preferred, as this role involves significant communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee permit applications and processing, ensuring compliance and efficient handling across city agencies.
Coordinate tenant scheduling and construction activities within our project management software.
Conduct property visits to assist with job estimates and gather essential information to scope maintenance and construction needs.
Support construction staff by organizing and overseeing preventive and ongoing maintenance tasks.
Uphold safety protocols and regulatory standards throughout all projects.
Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression and resolve any issues.

Qualifications

Proven experience in construction, property maintenance, and general upkeep.
Strong expertise in the San Diego-area permitting process, with familiarity across nearby cities.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is highly desirable for effective communication with diverse teams and clients.
Proficiency in scheduling and project management software.
Knowledge of Equipment Maintenance, Building Maintenance, and Preventive Maintenance.
Excellent communication skills for team collaboration and stakeholder interaction.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and excel in a fast-paced environment.
