Pallet Machinery Group, Inc, a manufacturing company located in Tappahannock, VA is looking to hire a CNC machinist to join our growing company. We have expanded our machine shop and are looking for an individual to help it reach its full potential. The shop has CNC mill, CNC Lathe, CNC Toolroom Mill and Plasma Table.
Some of the skills that we are looking for in an applicant are:
Proficient in the use of Haas' VPS conversational programming.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, sample parts, and/or production jobs to determine dimensions, tolerance of finished parts.
Demonstrated ability to calculate speed and feed values for various materials.
Optimize a program's efficiency through part program editing of tool selection, speeds, feeds, cut depths etc.
Understanding of G and M codes, machine and fixture set-up, canned cycles, work offset coordinate system.
Applicants must possess the ability to use measuring instruments such as outside micrometers, calipers, gauge pins and indicators.
Must possess understanding of basic machine features - keys, threads, bearing fits and bushings as well as basic geometry.
Verify conformance of finished parts to print specifications.
Clean and maintain the machine (coolant etc.) and its surrounding area.
Interact with supervisors and production personnel to resolve manufacturing and assembly issues and provide technical assistance. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
Adhere to safety regulations and policies
