SMV Recruiting, LLC is actively looking for an experienced Plant Manager for a well-respected manufacturer in Vernon, CA. Our client is looking for someone who is fluent in Spanish and can help turn around their plant. They need a strong leader who has experience with executing an aggressive growth strategy, building strong teams with world-class cultures and work environments, while overseeing daily operations. Our client is ideally looking for someone with an industrial engineering background, 15+ years of experience, 10+ years of leadership experience and prior experience working with anodizing, fabrication, welding, and paint within a true engineer to order environment. A deep knowledge of Lean Manufacturing is strongly desired. Responsibilities:

Act at the senior site leader and manage any significant issues that arise at a 100sq/ft manufacturing site and lead a staff of 5 direct reports
Work closely with corporate leadership to increase productivity, improve processes and enhance the layout of the site to meet demand
Develop strategic objectives, KP's and metrics and deliver results consistent with corporate strategy
Manage Profit and Loss with full accountability for a $50M+ operating budget
Oversee all quality related issues, conduct root cause analysis
Ensure EHS and ISO 9000 & ISO 14000 compliance
Interface with and/or influence external customers in situations that require high degrees of tact and discretion to ensure relationships are enhanced
Lead 100+ employees, provide direction, motivation and enhance company culture
Responsible for staffing, throughput, production schedules, production issues, quality issues and overall performance of the site
Strong focus on applying and leading lean manufacturing techniques and Toyota Production System principles throughout the site

Requirements:

Must have a bachelor’s degree (Engineering degree and/or MBA strongly preferred)
15+ years of manufacturing experience working with capital equipment or with sheet metal/fabrication
5+ years of leadership experience overseeing 100+ staff
5+ years of Lean Manufacturing leadership
Prior experience managing the P&L budget of at least $25M
Must be fluent in Spanish
Experience building leadership teams and company cultures
Prior experience working with fabrication, welding & paint
Must have prior experience in a high growth environment, streamlining processes and significantly increasing output, while managing a budget of $50K+ and leading the 1-5 year strategy
Must be able to work independently, be strategic, resourceful and work with a sense of urgency
