Position Summary:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Quality Engineer role, will focus primarily on addressing and resolving customer quality issues on the manufacturing floor, dedicating 80-90% of their time to this hands-on work. This person will utilize their skills in Parts Per Million (PPM) analysis, the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC) approach, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools to identify, analyze, and implement effective solutions for quality challenges.

We are looking for someone with the ability to articulate complex quality issues clearly and work closely with internal engineering and production teams as these skills will be crucial in ensuring that quality improvements are realized and maintained. Collaboration and strong communication skills will drive continuous improvement and help meet customer expectations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering; over 7 years of experience in quality, process, or supplier engineering, and over 5 years in an ISO 9001 or similar manufacturing environment. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
Strong background in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
ASQ CQE or similar certification is a plus.
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is desirable.
ISO auditor certification is an advantage.
Knowledge of GMP/QSR/ISO 13485 systems is beneficial.
Experience in medical or military manufacturing is a plus.
Baldrige framework experience is a plus.
Understanding of statistics and statistical methods.
Experience in medium/high volume system-level assembly and/or SMT manufacturing.
Familiarity with basic electro-mechanical and hand tools.
Ability to interpret detailed drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
Strong problem-solving, mathematical, and workstation skills.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel and data analysis.
Self-motivated, independent, and accurate in work.
Ability to act as a Customer Technical Team Leader with minimal direction.
Effective team communication and collaboration skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary.
