Overview:
My cutting-edge New Space client is seeking a dynamic Engineering Leaderto head up the Processing Core team! This position will lead the development of software and hardware systems for a next-generation hypersonic vehicle. This hands-on leadership role involves managing a cross-disciplinary team and driving the design, integration, and testing of critical systems, including flight computers, control systems, and core avionics. This position is responsible for end-to-end development, from initial design and testing to deployment on production-ready vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the technical and programmatic framework for the flight computer and flight software systems.
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team to design, test, and produce flight computers, operating systems, and core software.
- Drive integration of hardware and software systems into high-performance vehicle platforms.
- Innovate within a fast-paced, startup-like environment to develop reliable and scalable solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Computer Engineering / Science or related field.
- 10+ years of related engineering experience, preferably within a startup.
- Substantial senior management experience.
- Proven track record of delivering software and hardware solutions from concept to production.
- Hands-on experience in Linux systems (RTOS, kernel, driver development) and hardware integration.
- Experience with embedded systems, including robotics or autonomous platforms.
- Strong understanding of hardware architecture, assembly-level programming, and OS fundamentals.
- Proficiency in C, C++, or Rust for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with cryptography.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing software for autonomous flight systems, satellites, rockets, or robotics.
