Job Title: Energy Management Systems (EMS) Supervisor

The EMS Supervisor will serve as the subject matter expert in Energy Management Systems (EMS) and will oversee the installation, turnover, and use of EMS controls systems. This role involves collaborating with Technical Quality Support Team (TQST) to promote preventative maintenance, identify energy conservation opportunities, and suggest facility improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform HVAC Controls Design reviews
- Conduct HVAC Controls Submittal reviews
- Review utility data and energy usage to identify schools for recommissioning and retro commissioning
- Analyze EMS, energy data, and alarms to identify no-cost/low-cost energy conservation measures
- Evaluate EMS, energy data, and alarms to identify preventive maintenance measures
- Assess newly turned-over schools’ energy usage versus benchmarks to verify performance
- Assist in updating controls specifications to meet new federal, state, or local codes/standards
- Help implement requirements for integrating other control systems (Lighting, Irrigation, PV) with EMS
- Contribute to the creation of district standard control sequences of operations
- Assist with drafting controls shop drawings and sequences of operations for small upgrade projects
- Review the feasibility of retro commissioning measures
- Assist in managing In-House Commissioning Projects
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Required Experience:
- At least five (5) years of professional experience in building controls or a related field
- Experience with programming and controls database management
- Strong understanding of computer networking principles, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Competent knowledge of HVAC operations within a facility
- Experience creating and adjusting sequences of operations, shop drawings, and project specifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in engineering (mechanical, computer science, electrical, information technology)
OR
- Two-year technical degree in HVAC or Electronics-related studies with two additional years of relevant experience to compensate for education on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with multiple controls manufacturers such as Automated Logic, Carrier, Delta, Distech, Schneider Electric, or Trane
- Proven ability to debug installation issues during both static and dynamic start-up phases
- Experience supporting installation personnel and other contractors on project sites
- Extensive experience in commissioning EMS systems or assisting with their performance
Pay Range: $110,000-$120,000 yearly
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
