AEP Hawaii has been retained to hire an Operations Manager with heavy civil & concrete construction experience to join our rapidly growing construction client on Maui.
Salary: $180,000 - $225,000 + discretionary bonus

Overview
Responsible for overseeing civil and concrete construction operations, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and within budget. This role involves managing personnel, coordinating resources, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This executive will lead project teams, optimize workflow, and drive strategic growth across construction projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7–10+ years of experience in civil and concrete construction, with at least 3–7 years in a management role.
- Expertise in large-scale construction projects, including government contracts.
- Proficiency in project management software (i.e Bluebeam, Heavy Job, MS Project, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, concrete materials, mix designs, and construction techniques.
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred; additional certifications in construction safety or concrete operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee civil and concrete construction projects, ensuring quality, safety, and budget adherence.
- Manage project scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control to optimize efficiency.
- Lead teams of project managers, estimators, superintendents, and foremen.
- Monitor job site readiness, compliance with specifications, and industry standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring satisfaction and addressing concerns.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, site inspections, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop and enforce quality control processes for all construction activities.
- Manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Provide mentorship and training to staff, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
- Collaborate with finance teams to track budgets, analyze costs, and drive profitability.
