The Laboratory Technician I will be responsible for in-process and final Quality Assurance. They must ensure products meet internal or customer specifications (whichever is greater). All work carried out must adhere to Health & Safety policies and quality management systems. Must be able to multi-task and work with minimum supervision. This position exists to perform checks to determine the physical characteristics of material for quality compliance and process control. The ideal candidate must have a genuine interest for quality and customer satisfaction. Technician must be flexible to schedule changes from peak season to off peak season.
Essential Job Functions
· Learn and follow standard operating procedures based on ASTM testing procedures.
· Set up, adjust, and operate measuring equipment and instrumentation.
· Inspect and test finished goods for physical characteristics.
· Input test data correctly into Quality system.
· Maintain the work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
· Inspect in-coming material/oversee inspection process and help improve as necessary.
· Develop skills to achieve Technician II status.
· Assist in problem solving activities.
· Support Quality team as applicable.
· Work safely within the companies Health & Safety guidelines

Basic Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED.
· 1-2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
· Basic math skills.
· Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
· Ability to lift 30 pounds unassisted.
· Ability to enter data into ERP/ MRP system.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
· Ability to read and interpret production schedules, instructions, and procedures.
