Summary: The Quality Control (QC) Chemist is responsible for performing complex chemical and physical analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves method development and validation, data analysis, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Analytical Testing:
- Perform complex chemical and physical analyses using advanced laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
- Develop, validate, and implement new analytical methods as needed.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Interpret analytical data to assess product quality and identify trends or anomalies.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Method Development and Validation:
- Develop and validate analytical methods to support new product development and process improvements.
- Ensure methods are robust, reproducible, and compliant with industry standards.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:
- Investigate and resolve analytical issues, non-conformances, and out-of-specification results.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to implement corrective actions.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all laboratory activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all analyses, calibrations, and maintenance activities.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, preferably in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or a related field. Experience with microbiology is preferred. Four plus years of laboratory experience, including internships or academic lab work; or equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus. Basic understanding of chemical analysis techniques and laboratory equipment is also preferred.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis).
