Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager
- Oversee and manage all aspects of accounting, including financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
- Lead the month-end close process, including journal entries, detailed analyses, and account reconciliations.
- As the Accounting Manager, create, implement, and monitor internal controls and process improvements.
- Assist in developing and reviewing operating budgets and performance forecasts.
- Oversee accounts payable (AP), purchasing, and treasury functions, ensuring the completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure financial data and reporting reliability.
- Work closely with leadership to support strategic financial goals and initiatives.
Qualifications of the Accounting Manager
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience working with or within audit firms, with a strong understanding of audit processes.
- Proven ability to lead a team and foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, essential for a successful Accounting Manager.
