Verdad Resources, LLC is the largest private energy producer in the DJ Basin of Colorado. The company is partnered with multiple equity investors (primarily large family offices and private equity) and is well capitalized for continued growth. The Verdad team has a demonstrated track record of creating value for shareholders while adhering to strict environmental, health and safety standards.
In this position, the candidate will be an important member of the finance team and will report directly to the VP of Finance. The candidate will enjoy inter-disciplinary exposure across the company and will regularly interface with members of senior management.
Initial responsibilities include the following:
· Support the maintenance and optimization of the consolidated corporate cash flow model
· Work closely with the accounting, operations and reservoir engineering teams to support quarterly budgeting and forecasting processes
· Assist with the Company’s ongoing commodity derivatives program
· Help create presentations for monthly reporting packages, quarterly board meetings and bank meetings
· Work with all disciplines within the Company to contribute on ad hoc projects relating to valuation, budgeting, etc.
· Help manage quarterly and annual compliance deliverables relating to current and future debt instruments
· Help prepare research on macro E&P trends, with a particular focus on the DJ Basin
Desired Qualifications and Skills
· 1-4 years of previous experience in the energy industry (upstream preferred, but not required) via investment banking, corporate banking, equity research and/or corporate finance
· Bachelors Degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting or other related fields
· Advanced financial modeling skills and high-level of proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
· Ideal Candidate is organized, detail oriented, and brings a data-driven approach to problem solving
· The candidate must exhibit strong time management skills, flexibility and the ability to multi-task
