Building Superintendent
Location: Hollywood, FL
Job Type: Full-Time, Onsite
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

What You’ll Do:
As a Building Official, you’ll be responsible for regulating and inspecting building construction, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing installations. You’ll ensure compliance with federal, state, and local ordinances while leading and supporting a dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review construction plans and specifications for compliance with applicable codes and ordinances.
- Manage the inspection process for all construction, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing projects.
- Direct compliance and enforcement efforts, ensuring adherence to building regulations.
- Oversee the issuance of permits and Certificates of Occupancy under the Florida Building Code.
- Administer the Tribe’s elevator and commercial structure annual inspection programs.
- Work closely with the Director of the Tribal Inspector’s Department on strategic planning and budgeting.
- Enhance service delivery systems and develop new processes to improve efficiency.
- Administer the Tribe’s Unsafe Structures Ordinance Program.
- Attend Tribal Council and community meetings to address concerns and resolve issues.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Building Construction, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field required (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years in a relevant field such as Architecture, Engineering, Building Inspection, or Construction Supervision, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Certifications: Building Code Administrator certification by the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (Required).
- Technical Skills: Prior experience with EnerGov software is preferred.
- License: Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
- Leadership: Strong managerial skills with the ability to lead a team and drive compliance efforts.
