SUMMARY
Vapotherm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Lab Technician to join our dynamic team in the medical devices sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on the development, testing, and maintenance of medical devices. This role requires a meticulous professional who can work independently and collaboratively to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.
The Senior Electrical Lab Technician is responsible for coordinating, performing, and documenting laboratory testing. This team member will support established test protocols and experimental testing on electromechanical medical devices. They will procure and ensure the calibration and maintenance of laboratory electronic test equipment. The Senior Electrical Lab Technician will support engineering and quality teams with new product development, quality improvement, and continuing engineering projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the executing of engineering testing and verification protocols.
- Maintain and monitor laboratory assets to ensure function and calibration.
- Procure supplies for laboratory operational needs (e.g., specialty gases, consumables, and raw materials).
- Provide routine communications and lab management updates regarding laboratory activities and asset availability.
- Document test data and conduct analyses of testing performed.
- Coordinate and plan testing activities to meet testing and verification demand.
- Provide insight as an electrical test method subject matter expert during protocol development and update efforts by engineering personnel.
- Troubleshoot and repair laboratory infrastructure and test assets (e.g., Data loggers, test racks, environmental chambers), including coordination with outside vendors as needed.
- Assemble, test, and modify electrical circuitry and components according to engineering specifications.
- Collaborate with design and quality engineers to help define, execute, and accomplish laboratory objectives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Skilled in electronic repair of printed circuit boards in accordance with IPC standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
