JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will lead a mechanical and plumbing engineering design development practices in all regions of work performed by this construction company in adherence to the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Army surveying, planning and RFP design standards. These individuals will be working on new building construction, updates and renovations. Not maintenance, just design. Most work will be done on offices, housing and training areas.
- Using Revit to do 3D models and designs with real life dimensions and detail focused work in 2D Coordinating with project team to facilitate flow of design information and schedule
- Work with project team on submittals, cost management, quality control, approval process Creating plans, specs, and drawings
- Drafting within Revit, looking over specifications In person and virtual meetings with stakeholders in development of strategic plans
- Applying design techniques, tools, theories, and principals involved in the production and submittals of plans, drawings, models, specifications, and construction details to mechanical and plumbing engineering design and permitting.
- Reviewing, adjusting, and applying UFGS , UFC, IMC, International plumbing code, ASHRE 90.1, and LEED standards for application in Mechanical HVAC and plumbing engineering designs
- Analyzing and understanding government RFP's with the goals of creating design solution
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Mechanical related bach degree 2-4 years of experience in addition to that within the field (mechanical design focused-not field)
- 2D and 3D experience within Autocad/Revit
- Experience with design, drafting, looking over specifications
- Focus on HVAC or Plumbing focus (HVAC FOCUS PREFERED)
- SOME Knowledge with AHREA 90.1, 62.1 and 55 (code book design-this is not a certification, just knowledge)
