Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced engineer with expertise in automotive lighting to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for benchmarking, concept development, packaging analysis, and supplier coordination. This role requires proficiency in designing plastic components, technical decision-making, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality product development.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct benchmarking and develop innovative lighting concepts.
- Perform packaging analysis to ensure design feasibility.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure accurate part and service requests, evaluate technical proposals, and prepare detailed reports.
- Make informed technical decisions with moderate supervision.
- Document and present research findings and test results in various technical formats.
- Work independently or as part of a team to achieve project goals.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in lighting products (8+ years of overall industry experience).
- Expertise in automotive lighting, including headlamps and tail lamps.
- Proficiency in designing plastic components using Catia V5/V6.
- Strong understanding of lighting components and product lifecycle.
- Experience in supplier management and cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of appearance, craftsmanship, and packaging considerations.
- Ability to manage project timelines and prototype development.
- Familiarity with tooling, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and DFA (Design for Assembly).
- Understanding of specifications, FMVSS regulations, benchmarking, DVP&R, DFMEA, and studio collaboration.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
