Overview of the Fleet Manager role:• Oversee daily fleet operations, ensuring vehicles are utilized efficiently.
• Monitor vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.
• Optimize routes and fleet deployment for cost-effectiveness.
• Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs.
• Ensure all vehicles meet regulatory and safety standards.
• Coordinate vehicle repairs and inspections with service providers.
• Monitor and control fleet-related expenses, including fuel, maintenance, and insurance.
• Develop cost-saving strategies to improve efficiency.
• Manage fleet procurement and disposal strategies.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal transportation laws.
• Maintain proper licensing, permits, and documentation for fleet operations.
• Implement and enforce driver safety policies and training programs.
• Utilize fleet management software to track vehicle performance.
• Generate reports on fleet efficiency, costs, and utilization metrics.
• Recommend improvements based on data analysis.
Preferred qualifications for the Fleet Manager:• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
• Proven experience as a Fleet Manager, Logistics Manager, or in a similar role.
