- Working experience or internship experience in the civil engineering industry
- Interest in the public works sector
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

- Experience with land and engineering survey systems, methods, and techniques

- Experience with the construction and maintenance of public works, air quality and related systems
Job Summary
A client of Insight Global in the government sector is looking to add a Civil Project Engineer to their Public Works team. These project engineers will be a part of the public sidewalk construction & engineering division and interacts with a team of construction professionals that are involved in inspection, street paving and vision zero projects. Vision zero is designed to eliminate all traffic fatalities and injuries while promoting safe and equitable transportation. The ideal candidate will have obtained a four-year degree in the engineering field and have extensive knowledge of civil engineering and construction processes. Strong project management skills are also necessary to be able to prepare proposals, estimates and quantities for contractors working on sidewalk repairs and replacements. The candidate will be communicating with the contracting partners to submit payouts and change orders, but also work closely with the senior engineering technicians to track progress for sidewalk projects.
Additional Information
- The Project Engineer will be working 90% in-office, and 10% from the field
- The Project Engineer will typically visit job sites at the beginning and end of project lifecycles, then as needed during the construction process
- The Project Engineer will be taught to utilize eBuilder for project documentation
- This position is a 6 month contract-to-hire
- After FTE conversion, the Project Engineer will have 9 months to move within Kansas City, Missouri city limits.
