Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Set-Up Machinist with advanced machine set-up and troubleshooting skills for Mill (RoboDrill, 4 & 5 axis Haas) and Swiss (Star SB, ST, SVs) machines. This role involves collaborating with programmers, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and optimizing production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and troubleshoot Mill and Swiss machines with a moderate understanding of programming
- Ensure compliance with machining best practices and quality standards
- Collaborate with programmers and operators for efficient workflow
- Monitor and evaluate performance against standard setup times
- Conduct inspections, deburring, and polishing tasks
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of production experience
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and using micrometers, calipers, and comparators
- Strong understanding of metrology and quality systems
- Intermediate math and problem-solving skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and team-focused
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Factory setting with exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, dust, and vibration
- Requires occasional lifting (up to 20 lbs), standing, kneeling, and fine motor tasks
- Full-time role with minimal travel (<1%)
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
