Position Responsibilities:
• Use modeling, simulation and data analytics methodologies & tools including statistical and probabilistic analyses.
• Serve as a technical specialist supporting other functional design groups during all stages of the airplane product development and support lifecycle.
• Responsible for aiding in determining program technical performance measures (TPMs) such as schedule reliability, airplane operational availability & maintenance cost.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
· Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an ABET (or similar) accredited course of study in an engineering discipline, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
· 14 or more years' related work experience in an engineering field
· 5 or more years of Reliability Engineering experience in commercial aviation
· Experience in airplane systems design or engineering analysis (e.g. Propulsion, Electrical Power, Mechanical, Network, Fuels, Pneumatic, Interiors, Flight Controls, Hydraulics, Avionics, Fuels, etc.)
· Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) experience in commercial airplane certification.
· Proficient in FTA software tools such as CAFTA, ReliaSoft or FaultTree+.
· Experience in FTA integration for commercial airplanes.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
· Experience with project planning and execution.
· Technical leadership experience.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
