Shop Helper, Machining 2nd shift BENEFITS:

As a Shop Helper, you will be required to perform a variety of machining related tasks with simple to high complexity on various materials such as plasma spray coatings, aluminum, and anodized aluminum with direction from area Lead or Supervisor, including:
- Measuring machined features with Pin Gages and Thread Go/No-Go Gages
- Visual Inspection
- Honing
- Polishing
- Installing hardware such as Heli-coils and Dowel Pins
- Laser engraving
- Manual finishing of part features

Shop Helper, Machining 2nd shift ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Ability to communicate with production lead and supervisor.
- Follow all work instructions pertaining to specific tasks.
- Accurately complete job travelers accompanying work orders.
- Utilize ERP system to clock jobs.
- Follow company procedures and “best machine practices” at all times.
- Work independently to complete repeat tasks with little supervision.
- Operate a variety of equipment to support machining operations.
- Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy and accepted safe work practices.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Shop Helper, Machining 2nd shift RECOMMENDED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS: ·
- Completion of vocational education for machine technology or practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD&T preferred.
Shop Helper, Machining 2nd shift EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or general education degree. (GED)
- Previous related experience preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions.
- Ability to speak basic English language.
- Basic Microsoft Excel experience.
- Basic shop math and counting skills.
- Knowledge of Shop safety practices and use of PPE.
- Enrolled in vocational education for machine technology or practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD&T preferred.
Shop Helper, Machining 2nd shift PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
- Use of hands to handle and manually finish parts.
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, depth perception, and adjust focus.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
- Frequently required to sit and use hands to handle and feel objects, tools, or controls
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Shop Helper, Machining 2nd shift WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
- High noise levels from operating machines.
- Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
