Title: Registered nurse- Cath Lab Other Available units: Med surge/Telemetry/NICU/PCU/Float pool) Location: Round Rock, Texas 78665 Duration: Permanent Shift: Day shift (3 12) Pay: $45-$55/hr (depends upon experience) Job Description: Performs and documents ongoing assessments including observation, physical examination, laboratory/test results, and patient response to procedural intervention. Reviews and revises plan of care according to change in patient's status. Incorporates patient teaching/discharge planning to promote optimal patient outcomes. Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge.
Essential Functions: - Oversees care for patients who are waking up from anesthesia.
- Monitor a patient's vital signs, check their level of consciousness, and look for any side effects from anesthesia. Review each patient's medical history, taking note of important information. Perform post-operative tasks, such as changing bandages and giving patients medications.
- Collaborates with healthcare consumer and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice.
- Leads within the professional practice setting and the profession.
- Contributes to quality nursing practice.
- Clinical Judgment: Using clinical reasoning, conducts accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards. Identifies and prioritizes patient and family needs. Develops, implements and evaluates the nursing plan of care. Modifies plan to meet clinical outcomes.
- Clinical Inquiry: Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, including, but not limited to, nursing delicate indicators. Helps evidence-based practice changes through research utilization and experiential learning. Participates in quality/performance improvement initiatives.
- Caring Practices: Creates an attentive, helpful, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, families and staff. Develops therapeutic relationships with patient and family and maintains appropriate boundaries. Manages both fervid and physical pain with the aim of promoting relief and healing and preventing unnecessary suffering.
- Response to Diversity: Recognizes, appreciates, and incorporates a patient's and family's unique differences, such as culture, spiritual beliefs, gender, race, ethnicity, lifestyle, socioeconomic status, age, and values, into an individualized plan of care.
Skills: - Current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner in the state in which you work and reside or if declaring a National License Compact (NLC) state as your primary state of residency meet the licensure requirements in your home state or for Non-National License Compact states current RN license or temporary license as a Registered Nurse Petitioner required in the state where the RN works. - Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider status according to American Heart Association.
Education: - Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- BSN preferred.
