Maintains health information in both paper files and electronic systems. Reviews charts for accurate information, processes release of information requests (ROI), and locates and delivers medical and dictation records. May mentor and train staff and help guide work for associate and intermediate staff.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Sunday - Thursday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours starting between 5:00am - 10:00am CST, Sunday – Thursday CST. Employees are required to complete first week of training onsite prior to starting remote work. Our office is located at 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407.
We offer 3 weeks of paid training. The hours will be of 6:30am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday CST during first 3-6 months of training and ramp up.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Organizes and maintains health information records.
- Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
- Processes release of information (ROI) requests.
- Manages requests for documentation and information.
- Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record.
- Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
- Distributes reports and results.
- May train and mentor co-workers.
- Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements.
- Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 2+ years of customer service experience in a healthcare setting
- 2+ years of clerical or administrative experience in a healthcare setting
- Ability to travel to 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407 to complete onsite training for first week
- Experience with Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets)
- Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
- Ability to work 8-hour shifts starting between 5:00am - 10:00am CST,, Sunday - Thursday.
- Ability to work 6:30am - 3:00pm Monday - Friday CST during first 3-6 months of training and ramp up.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in health information management (HIM)
- 2+ years experience working in a health related environment
- 2+ years medical terminology experience

- Reside within MN or WI
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
