Job Description:Assumption University seeks candidates for a full-time, Professor of Practice position in Clinical Counseling Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position is a twelve-month faculty position. The initial appointment is for three-years, with the possibility of renewal and promotion in rank. The successful candidate must have a strong background in cognitive-behavioral therapy and the ability to teach courses in the Master of Arts program in Clinical Counseling Psychology. Teaching assignments include graduate-level courses such as counseling principles, abnormal psychology, measurement principles, ethics, and cognitive-behavioral assessment of children and adults. Teaching undergraduate courses (e.g., general psychology, courses in one's area of expertise) is a possibility. The successful candidate is expected to engage in service to the institution and demonstrate ongoing practice and professional development in the field.
Requirements:Applicants must have earned a doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology by the date of hire and be licensed (or license-eligible) in the state of MA. Preference will be given to candidates with university-level teaching experience and clinical experience in providing evidence-based interventions. Applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.
