Job Description
Transformation of the West Coast Mixing Center (WCMC) to deliver the digital and automated vision for North America Market Operations is underway with $60MM of investments in process and an additional $20-30MM planned. Our Compelling business need is to deliver 48 hours order-to-delivery lead time, 90% Service as Measured by Customer, 7% Net Savings, productivity and inventory reduction over the next 3-5 years. Our supply chain innovation strategy requires the transformation of the NA region into a digital, automated, and dynamic network where every asset is leveraged to synchronize to the unique needs of our customer replenishment streams. The project portfolio will deliver these objectives.
This engineering role will have responsibility for guiding Project Management and Construction Management practices (safety, quality, schedule, cost) through the execution. The role will also require leading the startup of facility and utility systems, implementation of all future project management and construction management systems and leading these activities in a continuing role. Additional responsibilities include master planning, cost savings, throughput increase, flow improvement, and R&E projects for the sites. The candidate is expected to develop/reapply warehouse technology solutions, utilize zero/low-cost capital solutions, and drive North America standardization via application of standard engineering work processes. This role will also have some form of regional/network mastery and accountability, such as Capital Systems, Construction Management Process, Material Handling Equipment specifications, etc.
Job Qualifications
Job Qualification1:
The candidate should have knowledge and experience in Project Management and/or Construction Management practices with the ability to execute capital projects from concept through design and construction closeout. The candidate must also have effective communication and collaboration skills, a strong sense of urgency and capability to influence and drive rigor within a team of functional partners (Engineering, Operations, QA, Finance and Contractors) to find low-cost solutions and mitigate business risks. Strong communication and presentation skills as well as ability to receive and provide feedback are also needed.
Job Qualification2:
Experience with EWP (Engineering Work Process) and capital project delivery is essential. This role is accountable for concept development, scope definition, design, and delivery.
Job Qualification3:
Leadership – Capable of organizing and delivering success criteria for big capital projects. Able to envision the future, enroll others, and engage directly to accomplish breakthrough results. Sets priorities and makes effective plans to achieve key project objectives related to automation scope.
Job Qualification4:
Collaboration and Communication - able to work effectively across multi-functional team interfaces and with a diverse group of engineers, operations/start-up personnel, equipment vendors, and construction contractors. Be a strong team player. Able to clearly articulate technical issues to the Project Team and Sponsors.
Job Qualification5 :
Operates with Discipline - demonstrated experience in being rigorous with systems design, delivery, trouble shooting, and learn from experience.
Important Responsibilities:
Develop optimum scope for best value solutions for capital projects. You are responsible for determining the choice and configuration of the technologies that will deliver the necessary throughput for the products shipped out to P&G customers while delivering project capital & savings goals.
Skills Needed to Perform This Job:
1. Technical mastery in construction management. 2. Technical mastery in capital management. 3. Development & delivery of technical scope of project including start-up support.
