Lake Drive Surgery Center has 8 operating rooms and 28 nursing unit rooms. We care for both pediatric and adult patients undergoing surgery for multiple different specialties including: eyes, ENT, plastics, breast, robotics, general, GYN, uro-GYN, fertility, colo-rectal, urology, sports medicine, total joints, spine/pain, hand, foot/ankle and vascular. Our patients receive excellent care and enjoy the option to come in for surgery and discharge home the same day, which is reflected in our likelihood to recommend scores. We are a great team that works very closely together to keep the day running as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
About Outpatient Clinics

Scope of work
The Surgical Technologist First Assistant (STFA) possessing advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and utilizing extensive patient assessment skills, collaborates with all health team members to ensure the most optimal patient outcome. Performs all activities at and expanded level of surgical technician practice executed with the contest of the nursing process. Intraoperatively, the STFA actively assists the surgeon, performing observable, technical behaviors (cognitive, psychomotor, and affective).

Qualifications
· 3 years of relevant experience within a surgical services nursing department Required
· Successful completion of a STFA certification course, which addresses both didactic knowledge and technical skills Required. The STFA course curriculum is based on recognized core curriculum for the ST First Assistant in which a certificate is awarded.
· AST, NBSTSA, or ABSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Required
· NBSTSA Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) Required
· AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
· AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
