As an A&P Mechanic - APU you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, and major inspections on turbofan and turboprop powered aircraft. Trouble-shooting, repair, and modification of aircraft components is accomplished by this position. In addition, engine removal and reinstallation, operational checks, leak checks, and engine runs are all within the responsibility of the Mechanic, A&P.
Responsibilities:
• Perform routine maintenance and major inspections on Honeywell engine types and models.
• Disassembly and re-assembly of Honeywell engine types and models.
• Remove and reinstall engines on aircraft for major periodic inspections and core zone inspections.
• Perform incoming and outgoing engine runs and line maintenance, as required.
• Accomplish all aspects of airframe removal and reinstallation, engine inspection and repair on road trips to accommodate customer aircraft.
• May perform other duties as required by the Department.
• Inspects aircraft/ engine in accordance with OEM Light or Heavy Maintenance manuals.
• Evaluates removed components for serviceability and document discrepancies (squawks).
• Troubleshoot and repair all engines as required.
• Document all work accomplished in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
• Accomplishes Service Bulletins, Repair Letters and Airworthiness Directive as required.
• Reads and interprets maintenance manual procedures, blueprints, technical manuals and schematic diagrams when required.
• Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting and continuously improving company policies and procedures.
• Utilizes mechanics hand tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges and calibration test equipment.
• Observes all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
• May perform other duties as required by the department.
Requirements:
• High School diploma (OR GED) and a valid FAA approved Powerplant license (A&P preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of APU experience.
Eligibility Requirements: - A valid FAA Powerplant certificate required. Must be appropriately certificated in accordance with 14 CFR Part 65.
- Demonstrated technical ability on specific airframes and engines in the areas of inspections, maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, and repairs.
- Demonstrated ability to locate and apply FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, Orders, Notices etc.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and plan work activities in an organized manner.
- Must have good interpersonal and verbal skills in order to communicate with customers and employees.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, stretch, and climb ladders.
- Must be able to think clearly, and speak intelligibly on the telephone and in person.
- Must be able to manipulate equipment of all sizes, tools, computer keyboards, and telephones.
- Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
