RS Technical Skills Trainer Sr A&P in GAC Van Nuys
Unique Skills:
Based in Van Nuys but there will be a small percentage of travel to Long Beach required
First shift role, Second shift flexibility required
The compensation range for this role is: $44.14 - $48.78 per Hour
Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to; minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience and location.
Currently open to candidates who will obtain an FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license from an accredited institution.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 6 years related maintenance experience and technical training. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.
Position Purpose:The RS Technical Skills Trainer is responsible for providing skills training through on the job training as needed and directed. Establish oneself as the technical expert and floor level contact for technicians in training to include floor level maintenance. This role is an aircraft & aircraft system technical expert and assists in the training and development of company technical employees to include basic avionics and system familiarization.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
- Establish oneself as the technical expert and floor level contact for technicians in training.
Ensure aircraft safety standards are complied with, promote and mandate the practical understanding of working to a high level of safety and quality.
Work to instill the values of personal accountability and integrity in the individual you are assisting/training.
Guide technicians to ensure proper technical data is utilized on each task, each time. Assist to ensure understanding of task at hand and provide guidance to successfully carry out those tasks.
Provide direction on maintenance task sign offs to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance.
Ensure proper documentation is maintained in accordance with facility OJT program and repair station training manual guidelines are adhered to and followed.
Provide direction to ensure complete understanding and pitfalls of high risk tasks.
Provide remedial training, pass on aircraft systems knowledge and teach advanced troubleshooting techniques to lesser experienced technicians.
Should be aware of and engaged in and utilize repair station trends (SMS, Top 3, First Pass Yield) to identify priorities.
Promote proper use and handling of tooling, PPE, and chemicals dangerous to employee and environment.
Assist in the development of logical and progressive competency based technical training.
Provide input and guidance on ERT and Master Technician programs.
Additional Functions:
- Must be able to read, interpret and explain maintenance manuals, IPCs, ASCs, CBs, CMP cards, engineering orders and blueprints. .
Must be able to troubleshoot systems during tests and perform systems and operational checks. .
Must be available to conduct training on any shift and travel as necessary. .
Must possess facilitation and presentation capabilities. .
Good organizational skills and strong verbal/written communication skills required. .
Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to read, interpret and explain maintenance manuals, IPCs, ASCs, CBs, CMP cards, engineering orders and blueprints.
With the expectation of performing aircraft maintenance and also documentation in aircraft records it is required. to maintain repair station core training.
Must maintain a current qualifier certificate while in this position.
Must be able to troubleshoot systems during tests and perform systems and operational checks.
Must be available to conduct training on any shift and travel as necessary.
Must possess facilitation and presentation capabilities.
Good organizational skills and strong verbal/written communication skills required.
Well rounded aircraft and aircraft systems technical knowledge necessary.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
