Community Endocrinology Office

Join our Community Endocrinology office located at 220 Washington Ave Ext in Albany! We offer a nurturing and friendly team-oriented work environment centered with efficient and compassionate patient care.
Our Community Endocrinology office sees patients for endocrine diseases including diabetes, thyroid diseases, disorders of calcium metabolism such as hyperparathyroidism and osteoporosis as well as a host of other endocrine diagnoses. We also see patients for primary care and will therefore accommodate patients who are sick for urgent visits.

That care is accomplished largely through the efforts of the doctors, PA’s, NP’s, diabetes educators, nurses, pharmacists, technologists (ultrasound, dexa), laboratory professionals as well as medical assistants, secretaries and professional managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Obtains and accurately records patient’s vital signs
- Documents components of patient’s history
- Communicates in an open and appropriate manner with patients, visitors and staff
- Participates in in-office procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare provider
- Performs EKG’s and diagnostic CLIA waived testing
- Prescription call-backs per scope of practice
- Preps patient’s chart for pertinent clinical information
- Maintains inventory of supplies, and keeps patient examination rooms stocked
- Provides sample medication to patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare provider
- Adheres to AMC’s regulatory compliance issues
- Other responsibilities as assigned by management
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Current NYS license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, patients and their family members or other employees within the work setting
