ARNP cares for FastTrack/ triage- Do you have a Fast track : no designated rooms. - Do you have a separate Triage area & do you allow/require travelers to do Triage: Will need triage experience. - Do ER RN's manage their own ER holds: ER nurses care for hold patients. There are some nurses that can take hold patients in acute care unit. - Do you have separate Psych/seclusion rooms: no- In-house Security: Will have evening security starting in January- # patients per day: 45-60- Ratios: 1:3-1:4- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: COVID, COVID pneumonia, CHF, DKA, SI, Behavioral health, some peds but do not have a pediatrician. Anyone needing surgery is sent out. Nurse will mix meds. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: 2 Years ER experience-procedural sedation, behavioral health experience, Vent Management, charge nurse experience. - ED Physicians/Mid-Levels: both Physicians and mid levels- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Charge day/night, House supervisor on at night M-F and Day/night on Saturday and Sunday. Managers/ Assistant managers do house supervisor duties M-F during the day. - Nurse Aids/Paramedics/Patient sitters : Techs- EMT/ CNA/ MA- EMR: Meditech - going to EPIC in Janurary - RT Equipment: (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Does RT do ABG's, breathing tx, EGS's Hamilton, Phillips V60. Nurses to manage. - Is there tele on this unit Monitor Techs RNs read strips: Nurses read strips. There are no monitor techs available. - X-Ray or CT in the ER Transport: Adjacent to ED- CT, MRI, Xrayt- Phlebotomy or nurse draw: They have some phlebotomy available. Nurse must be comfortable drawing labs. - Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hour shifts. They use an app called "When I work". Can pick up and trade through that app. Staggered shifts starting : 6,9,11,3,6 pm. Three nurses start the 6 am shift (1 charge 2 nurses), 1 nurse comes in at 9a,1p,3p and then 3 nurses come on at 6pm ( 1 charge, 2 nurses). - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend - Holiday Requirement : Will be required to work some holidays - Is there a call or standby requirement: no- Floating Requirements: yes, float to acute care and will take patients. - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color of professional scrubs. - Unit/Department specific orientation: Dependent on experience. 3 shifts in primary department, additional if needed for floating purposes.
