Northrop Grumman Aeronautics System Sector is seeking a Manager Industrial Engineering 2 to support a Production Operating Unit (OU) performing Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) and Modifications. The leader will join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on-site in Palmdale, California.
The Manager of Industrial Engineering 2 will lead a department of approximately eight (8) employees and will have the responsibility of working side by side with the Program Manager for PDM and the Director, Manufacturing for PDM. The Manager will have the responsibility of working side by side with fellow functional leaders in support of the PDM statement-of-work and will regularly be required to interface with the Air Force customer. An important aspect of this role will be identifying opportunities for process improvement and helping drive cost and schedule efficiencies to reduce production flow days, improve performance of the PDM operation, and achieve respective business targets. The role includes the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Provide technical and leadership support to the Industrial Engineering and operations management team.
Drive strategic initiatives and tactical actions that deliver results to improve program cost and schedule performance. Ensure program milestones and performance goals are achieved.
Guide executive level decision-making on how to effectively increase assembly rate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Deliver on short-term, high visibility program requests, while creating a vision and executing a long-term strategy to influence change within and outside the organization.
Coordinate the development and maintenance of manufacturing schedules and plans to ensure adequate labor, facilities, equipment, tooling, and materials are available on time to ensure customer requirements are met.
Analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity, throughput, workflow and logistics. Drive actions towards continuous improvement and affordability targets.
Coach, mentor, and develop team of industrial engineers by assigning meaningful tasks, providing frequent feedback, and rewarding positive performance. Build trust within the organization and align team towards a clear set of impactful goals.
Administer to employees; including performance reviews, merit increases, promotions, skills inventory and personal resources.
These shifts will be supporting our 4/10 shifts: Monday through Thursday 7am - 5pm, and occasional support on Fridays and weekends as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 7 years' experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related experience OR a Master's Degree with 5 years' experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related experience
2 years of proven experience leading teams and/or projects.
Experience Microsoft Office Tools (PowerPoint, Excel, etc).
Ability to Travel 10% domestically to support business need.
Must have an active DoD Secret CLEARANCE LEVEL or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) Clearance within a reasonable amount of time as required by the business.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in a STEM field.
Bachelor's Degree with 9 years' experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related experience OR a Master's Degree with 7 years' experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related experience OR a PhD with 4 years' experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related experience
Industrial Engineering experience / Industrial Engineering Degree.
Visual Basics for Applications (VBA) experience
Access Database Front-end and Back-End management
Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Tableau experience
Control Account Management (CAM) certification or experience
Manpower Profile Analysis experience
Proposal Prep experience
2 years of shop floor operations support experience.
Experience with Performance metrics of high-rate assembly line.
Experience/certifications in lean/process improvement.
Experience providing innovative techniques focused on improving product designs and processes utilizing analytic model.

Salary range: $125,500 - $188,300
Salary Range: $125,500 - $188,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
