Plains is currently looking to add an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our Operations team at our Bumstead, Arizona, facility.
Responsibilities :
- Perform repairs, calibration, and maintenance on plant electrical and instrumentation equipment in a safe, timely, and cost effective manner;
- Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation, including PLC control systems;
- Ability to interact and work effectively with both internal staff members and a contract workforce;
- Interface closely with Operations to coordinate electrical and instrument repairs and calibrations;
- Willingness to learn plant processes and operations;
- Ability to track and order inventory to ensure reasonable levels of critical parts and components are in stock.
Qualifications :
- Minimum Grade XII education:
- 10 years hands-on electrical and instrumentation background, with preference given to candidates with dual ticket experience;
- Prior gas plant, refinery, or oilfield experience is required, preferably in an LGP facility;
- Experience with PLC's, SCADA, DCS, and other control systems;
- Basic computer skills with knowledge of MS Word/Excel and e-mail;
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills are required;
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance;
- Self starter with a "can do" attitude;
- Team player with desire to work within a safety and goal orientated workforce;
- Valid Driver's License is a condition of employment.
