Responsibilities:
NIGHT SHIFT
Allan Myers is looking to fill this critical role on our transportation team with a proven leader who can deliver operational excellence. The Truck Foreman is responsible for driving effective and efficient dump truck support to field project teams across a wide range of construction, asphalt, and stock projects for the companys Virginia operational footprint. The Truck Foreman is responsible for providing frontline leadership, management and support of our dump truck operators and fostering an environment of continuous improvement. This position reports to the Transportation Manager.
Responsibilities
Management and oversight of operations including but not limited to:
- Shift schedule management and timely communication with the Dispatch team and the drivers to ensure they are aware of their schedule and any changes made
- Performance management of internal and external trucks using fleet management systems. Address issues and follow up with Plant and Project team leaders.
- Assisting project teams with schedule adjustments to redistribute trucks as needed and takes immediate action to execute changes such as start times, cancellations, quantities, location changes.
- Driver performance management through defining and communicating expectations, providing real time feedback and coaching, identifying training needs, conducting periodic ride alongs, and monitoring of drive attendance.
- Communication with hired haulers and external truck Brokers to develop collaborative relationships with key external partners.
- Management of supplies needed such as PPE, preventative maintence items, driver forms and documents.
- Management of equipment including identification of safety or mechanical issues, coordination with maintenance team for timely repairs, and overall Image of Excellence of our fleet.
- Leads safety in the department in conjunction with the safety managers by enforcing the use of proper PPE, ensuring all policies and procedures are understood and abided by, and through attending shift huddles at various start locations.
Qualifications:
License/Certification: Valid Commercial Drivers License (class A or B)
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 6-years of relevant experience - (dump truck operations)
- Previous experience as a Truck Lead, Supervisor or Foreman
- Intermediate computer and MS Office abilities
