This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (8:00am - 5:00pm). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. Our office is located at 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407.
We offer 4-6 weeks of paid training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment. Training will be conducted onsite.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Handle inbound communication from providers regarding incomplete charts
- Organizes and maintains health information records.
- Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
- Processes release of information (ROI) requests.
- Manages requests for documentation and information.
- Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record.
- Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
- Distributes reports and results.
- May train and mentor co-workers.
- Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements.
- Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 2+ years experience in health information management (HIM) or medical records
- 1+ years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel (ability to create, edit, save, and send documents and spreadsheets)
- Ability to travel onsite to 2925 Chicago Avenue Minneapolis, MN 55407 to complete day one orientation/training
- Ability to work our normal business hours of 8:00am – 5:00pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience in customer service
- Call center experience
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes
- Clerical or administrative support background
- Experience working in a metric-driven work environment
- Experience working with Medicare and/or Medicaid Services
- Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Reside within MN or WI
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
Soft Skills:
- Must be able to type and talk at the same time and navigate through multiple screens
