Greetings
Hello. This is
Warm Springs Pet Hospital . We are seeking a full or part-time Veterinarian to join our thriving, well-rated, 9 doctor hospital in south Fremont.
Our Values
Our focus is to build long-term client relationships, maintain an excellent local reputation, help as many pets as possible, and have fun doing it!
About Us
We are an 8 year old clinic in south Fremont, just 15 minutes north of San Jose. We're easy to get to from both I680 and I880. Our clients and staff have an easy commute from the east bay, San Jose, or Peninsula areas. Since starting up, we've been lucky to be one of the highest rated clinics in the area. We grew quickly from word-of-mouth, reputation, and the variety of interesting procedures we perform. We use Avimark practice software, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, Bovie electrocautery, surgical laser, GE Versana ultrasound, and full in-house IDEXX labs (Procyte, SediVue, CoagDx, VetStat, Catalyst). We are not a corporate hospital. We make clinic decisions based on what our team needs in order to do well and also what's best for the long-term success of the practice - rather than the short-term profit that most corporate hospitals are focused on. What that means for an associate doctor is that we have a good staff/dr ratio, we invest strongly in our staff training and development, and we have all the equipment that a vet could ever ask for.
Compensation
We offer a competitive base salary along with quarterly production bonuses and there is no negative accrual to our bonus system. The negative accrual part is important to bring up. Many hospitals do this - where if you took a vacation one month and made a negative bonus that period, that would follow you into future quarters until you pay it off. Therefore, you never really get any paid time off - since the negative accrual follows you. Depending on your experience, your total compensation could be on the very high end for the bay area. All of our veterinarians earn a production bonus, even the ones who were less than a year out of vet school. So, our bonus system is very real, generous, and obtainable. Our vets make anywhere from $170,000 to $370,000 per year after bonus. Mind you, the higher-end here are the vets that have been with us a few years and have greatly expanded their skill-set.
If your plan is to find a good place to plant roots and find a long-term clinic to stick with, then I believe that we are the place for you.
Benefits
Generous discretionary/CE allowance to use as you see fit (airfare, hotel, conferences, labs, books, membership dues, license fees, etc.). Group health insurance coverage. Paid time off. 401k matching. Generous personal pet care discounts.
Great Experience - Staffing: You'll always be working alongside 5-6 doctors each day. This allows you to collaborate and discusss your cases with your co-workers and also learn a variety of new topics and procedures - if you have that desire. We also have ample support staff so that you can focus on being a veterinarian and not a glorified technician.
- Schedule: 1). Your daily schedule is either 100% surgery or 100% exam appointments. That way, you don't have to worry about finishing morning procedures in time for a 1pm appointment. 2) Our last scheduled appointment starts 90 minutes before closing. That way, you can complete your exam, then handle any remaining notes and call backs, and get out of the hospital on time each day. This is important to those who have families or value work/life balance. Some clinics see appointments up to closing and don't leave time to play catch up. There, you may stay 1-2 hours past closing each day on non-productive tasks. 3) Each doctor is in control of their own daily schedule. Feel free to set aside time to catch up on charts, or perform a procedure, or scrub-in or learn during another doctors' case.
- New Procedures: Some of our veterinarians are highly experienced in orthopedic and other advanced procedures. Our office has performed over 2,000 TPLOs as well as hundreds of fracture repairs and other similar surgeries. So, if you have an interest in expanding your surgical skill-set, you won't find a better place to work.
What We Want
We hire based on personality, rather than resume. We're looking for someone who likes to have fun at work, gets along well with others, and is comfortable in a larger group setting. We're equally ok with experienced veterinarians and new grads. If you are an experienced doctor, you'll be happy here because we don't micro-manage and we offer a high enough volume such that you could focus on a special interest. If you are a new graduate, we've got a ton of experience mentoring newer vets and helping them develop confidence and independence.
