Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Model Based Design and Analysis Configuration Section Manager 2. This level 2 Manager position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

What You’ll Get To Do
Candidate will be responsible to manage a motivated team of senior design engineers within a matrixed functional organization, ensuring integration and collaboration across design teams. The Design and Analysis Configuration (DAC) team focuses on the creation of Assembly/Installation Product Definition Packages (PDP) utilizing Siemens NX and Siemens Capital & Xpedition and going through the product lifecycle management tool (Siemens Teamcenter). Additionally, it includes the investigation/resolution of the CAD (Computer Aided Design) issues that are a result of large top-level assemblies. Primary responsibilities include managing the weapon system configurations & effectivities and delivering the Engineering Bill of Material (eBOM) in structure manager using Siemens Teamcenter. You will apply knowledge of design, modeling and drawing practices to accomplish these objectives.
The successful candidate will be collaborative, open, transparent, and team-oriented with a focus on team empowerment & shared responsibility, flexibility, continuous learning, and a culture of automation. Candidate will demonstrate ability to communicate effectively across engineering disciplines and design teams. Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively to resolve issues, determine priorities, and implement solutions. Candidate experience with industry and military standards and specifications is preferred.
As a section manager you will lead and manage a team of individual contributors within design as well as:
Provide performance feedback, training, mentoring and coaching to your employees.
Support workforce planning and maintain sufficient depth and breadth of skillsets within your team's core discipline to meet program needs.
Responsible for employee performance reviews and supporting employee career development.
Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with senior management, peers, and employees.
Support development and refinement of processes and tools that support business areas and programs in achieving their missions.
Support proposal work, independent technical reviews, program standup and audits, and special assignments on an as needed basis.
Support employee engagement, hiring, development, training, attraction, and retention of top talent.
Provide technical support to Sentinel program for model-based design and analysis configuration, including but not limited to:
Provide technical experience as related to the implementation and dissemination of engineering processes to support Design Engineering.
Support our Tier I suppliers with design authority and our IWO partners.
Support daily scrum meetings and provide status on assigned activities and meeting deadlines.
Understand USAF processes, procedures, and requirements; develop mechanical integration approaches based on industry standards.
Manage development to meet program milestones, including managing risk and opportunities.
Provide mentoring and coaching on technical issues within your area of expertise.
Perform risk analysis, trade studies, process improvement analysis, cost estimates, as applicable.
Tracking to completion tasking and assignments for the team, assisting with workload balancing across team members, collecting metrics, and performing other project management functions as applicable.
Ensure team members have the required tools and access to perform their responsibilities.
Collaborate with design process and governance team and other engineering assignment managers/leads to align priorities and support overall execution of program objectives.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Job Qualifications
You’ll Bring These Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM-related field of study from an accredited university with 6 years of relevant experience
Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance with an in-scope investigation date within the last 6 years
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Enhanced Security Clearances within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
At least 1 year of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule in a Design organization in a lead or managerial role
Experience using 3D modeling tools. NX preferred.
Experience in a Product Lifecycle Management Tools such as Teamcenter.
Experience with mechanical and design engineering principles
Experience in interface control and/or interface design.
Experience in engineering baseline control, release process and Build to Package development.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have
Working knowledge of SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft teams, siemens Teamcenter or other life cycle management systems
A current DoD Top Secret clearance
Active Special Program Access
Understanding or experience with Siemens Xpedition.
Experience with military specifications
ICBM experience
Able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction.
Experience supporting Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) or other missile design and deployment programs or projects
Excellent technical writing skills, and team building skills.
Experience in performing in an Agile environment and knowledge/understanding of JIRA.
Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager.
Experience interpreting and ensuring design compliance to industry and/or military standards and specifications
2 years experience in a people leadership role, or 4 years experience as a technical lead
Experience in project management including microsoft project and visio
Experience writing and defending technical position papers
Experience working with chief engineers and Integrated Product Teams
Experience working in Agile and digital design environments
Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks, and mentor junior engineers
Experience reviewing technical drawings and engineering data
Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Ability to function in a dynamic and collaborative environment, and be flexible to changing direction

Salary Range: $108,400 - $162,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
