We are looking for anInpatient Acute Care LPN. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic specialty team in the delivery of nursing care to the oncology patient population.
CB2 serves the medical oncology population of the organization and commonly includes: solid tumor cancer patients, hematological cancer patients, acute leukemia and lymphoma patients, and benign hematology patients, along with the provision of hospice and end of life care. The unit also services the needs of a variety of med-surg overflow patients when necessary and appropriate.
Working under the direction of a registered nurse and within the context of the Nursing Professional Practice Framework, the LPN contributes by providing the highest quality patient centered direct care for patients on the inpatient oncology unit at Hartford Hospital. The self-motivated LPN will work collaboratively as part of the healthcare team to assist in reaching desired outcomes for quality, safety, and patient experience while working at the top of their license. The LPN will provide nursing care, assist with treatments and procedures, and carry out interventions within the framework of the established plan of care as well as perform additional nursing related activities with direction and guidance from an RN. Foundational training in oncology will be provided through our oncology educator and the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute. Reports to Nurse Manager.
Qualifications
- Current Connecticut Licensed Practical Nurse license required.
