Job Description:
We are seeking an accomplished and results-driven CNC Machine Tool Territory Sales Manager to lead our sales team and drive growth in the CNC machinery division, specifically in North and South Carolina. As a Territory Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies in your Territory, hiring Dealers when that makes sense, and building strong relationships with customers in the manufacturing industry. This division is an "intrapreneurial startup" meaning that is a startup of a new CNC Product Line within a larger existing company framework. The successful candidate will be among the first employees and will on the ground floor of this venture and will have many opportunities for growth and advancement, commensurate with the success they can create. The success of the venture will be strongly coupled to the success of this position.
We are looking for an individual that will be able to function well in a team environment. We are not looking for loan rangers and guys that view themselves as superstars. In a startup situation it is never a given that the playbook used to be successful in your prior situation will work. The successful candidate will bring with them what is helpful and discard what is not.
We are looking for an individual with an Entrepreneurial Mindset. What that means to us is a creative and innovative person that will achieve success by quickly engaging the market, learning from both failures and successes, and quickly adapting their experiences to create sales growth. This is NOT a standard position with a highly structured approach to the market. You will be figuring out the approach.
We are looking for an individual that has been successful in selling CNC Machinery particularly general-purpose machines that are typically used by job shops and startup machine shops. Our products offer a strong price/performance point which is intended to help manufacturers be more cost effective. Prior success in selling to general machine shops and selling general purpose Vertical Machining Centers and CNC Lathes is strongly desired. Experience selling high performance and complex machines is less relevant to our existing focus.
Finally, our organization has experience getting a new product line, produced in China, off the ground. We know it is a test of Persistence and Resilience. The successful candidate will be optimistic but realistic and will be able to deal with the ups and downs of finding and establishing a sustainable position in the market.

Responsibilities:
1. Sales Leadership:
Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
Provide leadership and direction to the CNC machine tool sales team.
Set sales quotas, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback to team members.
2. Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and prospects.
Understand customer needs, provide technical guidance, and propose tailored solutions.
Collaborate with the sales team to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Use the companies CRM software (Salesforce) for managing CRM data.
3. Market Analysis:
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
Identify new market opportunities and develop strategies to expand the customer base.
Conduct market research to assess customer preferences and demands.
4. Sales Presentations and Demonstrations:
Conduct product presentations and demonstrations to potential customers.
Effectively communicate the features, benefits, and value proposition of CNC machine tools.
Address technical inquiries and concerns.
5. Sales Reporting and Forecasting:
Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates using Salesforce system.
Analyze sales data and trends to make informed decisions and adjustments to strategies.
Manage sales budgets and expenses.
6. Training and Development:
Train and onboard new sales team members.
Provide ongoing product and sales training to enhance team performance.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven track record in CNC machine tool sales, with a strong network in the manufacturing industry.
Leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and manage a sales team.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in CRM software (preferably Salesforce) and sales reporting tools.
Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
