We seek a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant to evaluate and treat patients and deliver care to patients experiencing musculoskeletal problems or who have recently undergone orthopedic surgery or other procedures. This position will perform pre-operative and post-operative physical and psychological health assessments, provide patient education and counseling, order and interpret diagnostic procedures, and work as part of a team to ensure ongoing management of chronic disease conditions delivered through a combination of onsite and telehealth visits.
- Engage in independent decision-making about health care needs and provide orthopedic health care services to individuals throughout the stages of their surgical experience.
- Examine patients and review medical history to diagnose orthopedic conditions such as fractures, sprains, and arthritis.
- Help patients with pre and post-surgical follow-up care.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as x-rays, MRI scans, and blood tests.
- Developing treatment plans that may include medication, physical therapy, or surgery
- Perform minor surgical procedures within the scope and realm of their practice agreement with their supervising physician(s).
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES
- Detailed knowledge and experience of common geriatric orthopedic issues including osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, and tendon or ligament injuries.
- Ability to provide both telehealth and onsite visits to skilled nursing facilities.
- Must be able to commit to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday through Friday, 2 or more hours time block each time
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with patients, family members, and other medical professionals.
- Comfortable working independently and in collaboration with other medical team members in utilizing approved protocols, procedures, and expert consultation for our adult neurocritical care patients.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in Nursing Licensure, Certification, and Registration
- Current, valid Florida APRN license Certification through the ANCC, AANP (or equivalent certification body)
- Current BLS required Medicare NPI #, 855I and 855r on file (Independent NP Medicare Provider Number/PTAN#)
- Must be able to commit to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday through Friday.(in 2 or more hours time block each time you work)
- No weekends or evenings at this time.
- Orthopedic-focused clinical experience (3+ years)
- Geriatrics and telehealth experience are highly preferred.

Our clinician-focused technology and resources will help you:
- Conduct clinical assessments and evaluations.
- Formulate treatment plans as needed.
- Prescribe medications with proper dosage and administration instructions.
- Oversee telemedicine patient flow and daily functions of the telemedicine shift.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records of patients' contact details, medical history, prescribed medications, allergies, diagnoses, and progress.
- Maintain integrity, availability, and confidentiality of all PHI
- Oversee the reporting of diagnostic testing results, follow-up treatment, referrals, and recovery.
