Description:
Position Summary:
The Shop Lead will assist Farm Mechanics with performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs to vehicles and equipment. This position cleans and organizes work areas, tools, and equipment to maintain a safe and efficient working environment. The role is essential to support organizational goals and model best practices, guided by our values of Excellence, Accountability, Transparency and Stewardship (EATS).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspects tools and equipment ensuring they are in working order.
- Cleans the shop and returns tools to proper locations.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area in the shop and shop yard.
- Updates maintenance and repair logs.
- Assists with inventory maintenance of replacement parts and equipment.
- Completes required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Assists mechanics performing repairs and adjustments of equipment and or vehicles.
- Assists with service calls and breakdowns.
- Assists in teardown of equipment of vehicles for repairs of service.
- Performs minor repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services such as oil change, lubrication, check all fluids, etc., on equipment, wind machines, and vehicles.
- Wash and or steam clean parts and equipment and vehicles.
- Operate equipment as needed for repair and maintenance.
- Test drive equipment, vehicles ensuring repairs and services are completed properly.
- Drive fork and scissor lifts to perform repair and or service or equipment.
- Transports drivers of vehicles or equipment.
- Shuttles vehicles and equipment as needed.
- Performs all duties in a safe manner and actively promotes company Illness & Injury Prevention Program and farm safety policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Excellent mechanical skills.
- Knowledge of vehicle repair.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
- 2+ years of experience working in an individual or machine shop setting, preferred
- 2+ years of experience with component assembly and dynamic balancing, preferred
- Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the Company's insurance carrier.
- Basic skills operating pallet jacks and lifting equipment
- Basic computer skills
- Bilingual verbal and written English/Spanish, preferred
