Who We Are:
Visalia Eye Center is a well-established, single location, eye care clinic providing comprehensive ophthalmic and optometric services for over 50 years. Our healthcare team includes team includes 2 ophthalmologists and 1 optometrist.We treat medical eye care needs including cataract surgery, corneal diseases and surgery, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. We provide vision exams, refractions and contact lens fittings. We have an in-house, full-service Optical Department with three experienced opticians who dispense glasses and contacts.
Where are we located:
Visalia, California is in the San Joaquin Valley at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains. We are centrally located to most everything California has to offer; within a few hours you can reach the beaches of the central and southern coasts, visit Yosemite, Sequioa, or Kings Canyon National Parks, or hit the winter slopes at China Peak Ski Resort.

We are seeking a licensed Optometrist who can provide comprehensive medical and refractive eye care services to our patients; someone who is passionate about what they do, and has the experience or potential to be a leader in our organization and ensure that all patients receive the highest quality optometric care; someone who is eager to expand their knowledge and improve their clinical skills. Our optometrists provide eye care beyond prescribing glasses and contacts. They manage ocular disease to their comfort level. What We Require:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
- Current California state license in good standing
- In-depth knowledge of eye-related disorders and conditions
- Knowledge of the latest advancements in optometric theory and technology
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Examine patients eyes to determine the nature and degree of vision problems or eye disease and prescribe corrective lenses or treatments when necessary.
- Perform tests that may include subjective refractions, retinoscopy, lensometry, slit lamp examination, visual fields, pupil, and mobility testing, and tear function testing.
- Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses and other aids or therapeutic procedures that correct or conserve vision
- Perform 1 month post operative exams for cataract surgery patients
- Diagnose diseases and anomalies such as color blindness, diabetes, glaucoma, or keratoconus
- Clearly document diagnosis and treatment plan, including referrals, therapeutic prescriptions, and long-term medical management in patients Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Consult with and refer patients to ophthalmologist when specialized treatment is necessary

Salary Range:
$140,000 - $200,000
