This role involves supervising and monitoring departmental projects to ensure timely and standard-compliant execution, aligning with client needs and our internal policies and standards. The Department Manager will be responsible for the preparation of proposals and cost estimates, ensuring proper scoping of services, manpower availability, and pricing to meet targeted profitability. Key duties also include managing the department's daily operations such as staff training, development, performance reviews, equipment utilization, safety, service quality, and policy adherence. Furthermore, the role encompasses planning and engaging in business development activities to identify and seize project opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and contributing to the companys growth.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Preparation of proposals and cost estimates.
Engage in business and client development activities.
Develop and manage staffing plans, recruitment, selection, and on-boarding.
Work with the Office Manager on the departments annual business plan.
Manage key metrics including revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and profitability.
Assess project-related risks, adhering to company risk policies.
Lead and enforce safety guidelines, fostering a safe working environment.
Emphasize continuous quality improvement and adhere to quality standards and practices.

Qualifications: Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related technical discipline.
A minimum of 8 years practice experience, or 12 years experience in lieu of a degree.
Masters degree or PhD preferred.
Prior supervisory experience is a plus.
Valid drivers license with an acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification:
Certification or licensure in the field of expertise.
