Position Information:
The Cytologist II performs specialized tasks involved in screening slides of clinical specimens to detect evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions. Requires a thorough knowledge of the morphology of normal cells and cellular changes associated with physiological states reactive processes inflammatory changes and changes resulting from effects of specific forms of treatment such as irradiation and chemotherapy. Evaluates the quality of specimen preparation utilizing knowledge of the expanding variety of methods of preparation and staining in the laboratory.

Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree Cytotechnology Required - Or Science Required
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Certified Cytotechnologist Required
