Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Systems Test IPT Director position to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in Palmdale, CA.
The Systems Test IPT Director is responsible for all program System Test to include Development, Integration test as well as program laboratories infrastructure, lab operations, as well supporting testing, and integration activities. The position functionally reports to the Aeronautics Sector Test & Evaluation Directorate Lead and receives day to day direction from the Strike Program Operating Unit Directors and Program Chief Engineer. This position is responsible for ground and flight test at multiple locations as well as labs and test articles primarily located in California. Position supports the Manufacturing Ops IPT for System Test activities in the manufacturing value stream and leads test activities in all other Business areas covering Development, Capital, and NCTA.
Primary duties include:
Leading all aspects of managing a program's System Test organization, Personnel, Equipment, Processes, External Range Resource Coordination, Scheduling, Tools, Laboratories (Infrastructure & Operations), which support Lab, development of Flight and Ground Test via real-time simulations, System/laboratory test asset scheduling, and personnel management. Support proposal development activities.
Develop yearly capital asset and indirect expense forecasts.
Manage the maintenance and upgrade of Development Assets, laboratory computer systems and test equipment.
Maintain performance metrics and report daily status to Program Management. Develop and track closure plans for Issue closure and Risk mitigation.
Assess Earned Value progress and forecast EAC. Responsible for partnering with Functional Home Room on staffing and employee skill development to meet Program needs.
Manage daily compliance with policies and procedures including security, property management, calibration, training, configuration control, and test conduct.
Some travel may be required depending on program needs (up to 15% of time). The position is not a candidate for remote or hybrid work.

Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in system test, proposal, program management, and/or design, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience that includes a background in system test, proposal, program management, and/or design.
Must have experience in Aircraft Operations/Maintenance/Testing & Flight or Ground Test Experience as an Individual Contributor or Manager/Director
Must have prior leadership skills and the ability to work effectively across organizational layers from individual contributor through Executive Leadership
Communication and presentation skills, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a dynamic leadership environment
Ability to translate strategic vision into tactical application.
Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance (or higher) that has been granted or reissued in the last 6 years or is currently enrolled in continuous evaluation.
Must have ability to obtain and maintain Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Special Program Access (SAP)
Master’s Degree in Technical Field (STEM) or Business Administration.
Proven record of developing & implementing action plans to improve strategic growth using continuous improvement techniques spanning across a large organization.
Military or Civil Test Pilot School Graduate
Flight Line Maintenance/Operations Experience and/or Laboratory Test Experience
Salary Range: $190,600 - $286,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
